Cape Town Mayor(ess) must go

Fresh after the scandal raised by her media person's alledgedly racist website, demands are growing for Cape Town's ANC  Mayor Nomaindia Mfeketo to be fired in the face of allegations of nepotism, corruption and mismanagement.

DA city councillor and deputy caucus leader Ian Nielson said that the city's administration was in deep crisis and that drastic steps had to be taken to save the city from a financial meltdown. Former deputy mayor Belinda Walker, also of the DA, said Mfeketo had effectively run the city into the ground. She said that as executive mayo, Mfeketo must take full responsibility. She has all the power and authority and the buck stops with her."

"The cloak of secrecy she has wrapped around mayoral committee meetings and decisions has exacerbated the crises. She must go."
